Barambah Environmental Education Centre (EEC) offers camp programs that engage students in authentic outdoor learning. Programs are designed to support a range of learning and interaction styles. The centre’s learning sites are located on a traditional Aboriginal pathway within Wrattens National Park.
Barambah EEC’s location and natural history support learning experiences that are not available in other settings. Students and teachers take part in experiential learning about the history, biology and ecology of the natural environment. Students also connect to Country through learning about the scientific knowledge and sustainable living practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Programs cater for all phases of education and align with the Australian Curriculum learning areas, general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities.
Inclusive learning
Barambah EEC is an inclusive centre and welcomes all staff and students. Teaching and support staff work with schools to help students with disability or diverse learning needs participate in day visits and camp programs, access the curriculum and achieve learning outcomes.
2027 programs
Barambah’s 2027 programs are organised into 4 streams:
- Leadership and teamwork
- Personal challenge and adventure
- Histories and cultures
- Science and sustainable futures
These streams help schools choose the program that best meets the needs of their students and the goals of the excursion. All streams are available for all year levels and use age-appropriate teaching approaches. Programs can also be tailored to your group’s goals and may include additional focus areas or activities.
