Pathways (Years 3 to 10)
This program provides opportunities for students to investigate the lifestyle of the traditional Indigenous groups who inhabited the area around Barambah. Students are able to gain a deep understanding of how Indigenous people lived through participating in activities including using traditional tools and weapons, fire making, identifying and sampling of bush foods, building shelters from traditional materials and making string using traditional methods—multi-day excursion or day excursion.
Guardians of Barambah (Years 4 to 5)
This historical drama program invites students to become Guardians of Barambah, travelling through Professor Neptune’s Time Machine to explore how Aboriginal people traditionally cared for the land, skies,
and waterways using sustainable practices. Through dramatisation, they investigate key moments in history, examining the impacts of gold mining, logging, hardwood plantations, and cattle grazing on local ecosystems and make suggestions for the future—multi-day excursion.
