After 30 years working in the banking industry I decided on a tree change. At the end of 2012 I applied for the Administration Officer position at Barambah Environmental Education Centre, a position which has now become Business Manager and I have held since the beginning of 2013.

My role includes front desk duties, OneSchool finance (invoicing, receipting, credit card reconciliation, assets & facilities), budgeting, purchasing and managing the direct to market maintenance and building work. I also help non-teaching staff when required.

Living in Gympie means that my drive to and from work each day involves a 100km round trip through Widgee and travelling on an old logging track through the Wrattens State Forest. I really enjoy this trip in my Mazda BT50- even more when it’s raining (just don’t tell my beautiful bride)!

I enjoy working for the Department of Education, particularly in the middle of such a peaceful environment.
