Cyndi Jackson - Unit support officer
I have been working at Barambah for over 10 years.
As Unit Support Officer I am
responsible for the maintenance and development of Centre grounds, track
systems and grounds-based teaching resources.
This entails a long list of duties and
includes; garden and lawn maintenance, tool maintenance, minor plumbing works,
monitoring water and gas supply, rubbish removal.
I have a Certificate III in
Horticulture & Parks and Gardens and maintaining the Plant Nursery –
grafting, striking cuttings and seeds are my favourite part of the job.
Assisting the teachers with delivering
the programs is another facet of the job – facilitating the Free Trees part of
the program, leading Barambah Challenge groups and helping ready curriculum
resources are all part of my week.
I am also the Work Place Health &
Safety Officer.
Though I am always kept busy, I
wouldn’t trade my job at Barambah – it is a great part of the world to work in.
