Writers and Illustrators Camp
This is a unique opportunity for students to engage in illustrating and writing activities with Dr Paula Peters, immerse in our beautiful Barambah forest environment, create journals, and connect to the wider community on our exhibition day. Additionally students will learn how they can lessen their impact on the environment by adopting ecologically sustainable practices.
The students don't have to be really arty or great writers as Paula is fantastic at getting everyone to create amazing art.
Students will participate in two and a half days of workshops, and then facilitate an exhibition event. School and community representatives will be invited to attend this special event on November 10 (subject to complying with ongoing COVID restrictions).
The Illustrators and Writers Camp aligns to the following Australian Curriculum areas:
Cross Curriculum Priorities - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures, Sustainability
General Capabilities – Critical & Creative Thinking
The Arts – Developing understanding of practices ACAVAM115. Sharing artworks through performance, presentation or display ACAVAM116
The camp will be supervised by the staff of Barambah Environmental Education Centre, visiting teachers and staff/adults from participating schools.
